William Wilberforce (1759-1833)

Welcome to the My World My Time podcast, where we go back in time to interview historical figures about how they made a positive difference in the world.

The year is 1807 and we’re in London, England to interview William Wilberforce, leader for the abolition of the slave trade. He sacrificed his health, friendships, safety, and over 30 years of his life to try and end slavery in Great Britain. What gave him the strength and determination to never give up in the face of such violent opposition? Find out in this interview!

(The interview is a work of fiction, written by Kathryn Moss. Wherever possible, William Wilberforce’s own words and ideas have been used, as recorded in his journals and letters.)
